Many people, myself included, struggle with limiting subconscious beliefs about what is possible for ourselves and our lives that keep us in unfulfilling, frustrating, repetitive cycles.
We all have different limiting beliefs, but what unites us is the knowledge that everyone has demons and everyone can work through them to allow more happiness and fulfillment to enter their lives.
An effective technique I've discovered is the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or "tapping" as its colloquially called. Through this process we can begin to identifying and release these limiting beliefs, allowing us to break free from our negative patterns and create a life of more full of abundance and success.
EFT tapping is a form of alternative therapy, similar to acupuncture, which focuses on tapping on the meridian points of the body while focusing on a particular issue or emotion. This process helps to calm the body's response to stress and anxiety, allowing us to access and release the negative emotions and beliefs that hold us back.
It is an effective tool, especially for those who don't have time for, can't afford, or don't want to consider traditional therapy. Haley Hoffman Smith has a great tutorial on Youtube to get started and Brad Yates in a fantastic practitioner who offers free, guided EFT tapping sessions to help you get started.
The first step to releasing our limiting beliefs is to identify those beliefs, and that generally comes through introspection and self-reflection. Think about the last time you were triggered. Think about something you've always wanted that always seems just out of reach. Examine any addictions or compulsions you may have and dig deeper to see what they may be numbing.
Once you have identified your limiting beliefs, it's time to begin the tapping process. As stated above, Brad Yates has wonderful guided videos tailored for whatever you'd like to try to emotionally release.
And just so you know you're not alone, its important to note that healing is not a linear process. It may take time and effort to identify and release these beliefs. The healing process sucks, quite frankly, and there's often more trauma buried beneath the surface than you thought, even if you've led a pretty good life.
Some of the most successful people in our society still suffer from addictions or limiting beliefs in one form or another. But the rewards are well worth it. As you release these limiting beliefs, you'll begin to see a shift in your mindset and a newfound sense of empowerment and possibility.
I invite you to join me on this journey of self-healing and growth. Together, we can break free from our limiting beliefs and create a life of abundance and success. It all starts with a single step.
