Top Finisher: Academy Nicholl Fellowship

Matthew Harris is a novelist, screenwriter and former speechwriter for Governor Charlie Baker of Massachusetts.

​

His brand is gritty action/adventure or thriller, usually with a Sci - Fi or Fantasy twist. His scripts are usually ripe with sardonic humor.

​

He is a member in good standing of the Junior Hollywood Radio and Television Society (JHRTS) and has been accepted into their mentorship program two years running. 

​

His feature script A Short and Merry Life placed in the top 3% of all entrants in the prestigious Academy of Motion Pictures Nicholl Fellowship and has been requested by several manager/producers to read. 

​

His original pilot Drudge was a semifinalist in the 2020 Screencraft fellowship and received accolades for its genre blending elements.

​

His two original pilots Superbia and The Symbols of Cassie were both quarterfinalists in the Final Draft Big Break Contest and have been receiving praise from industry insiders. 

​

His feature, All too Human placed fourth in the 2018 Scriptapolooza Screenwriting Competition, beating out over 3000 entrants including Shia LeBeuof's feature script, Honey Boy, which only made it to the semi - finalist stage. Honey Boy screened at Sundance and was acquired by Amazon.
